- Integrating the past into the present can be scary, but it is so worth it.
- As important as communication is between parent and child, sometimes, silence can accomplish so much more.
- It shouldn't be a surprise to me, but it still makes me happy that Sondheim was right: Children do listen and learn.
- With a little time and perspective, what were once thought of as necessities really aren't. The girls have been out of therapy for over 6 months now, and yet, they are still growing, still healing, and still becoming stronger people.
- 7th grade can be survived.
- The quickest way to brighten my mood is to listen to Broadway musicals. For years, I've been operating under the assumption that I have to watch the news in the morning. And then I'd leave the house frustrated with the state of the world. It started with listening to my latest Glee purchases and my days start off "so much better." (Can you name what musical that's from?)
- The girls and I are pretty good at heavy lifting. We've accomplished a lot of furniture re-arranging, just the 3 of us. But I was most impressed when they moved their own beds without me!
- I need to get my blogging mojo back. It's taken me 3 days to write a post of 10 things!
- Goals are scary. But thinking in terms of 5-10 years down the line is possible.
- I was reading Take the Cake about balancing life, and the way the steps were broken down were exactly the way I'm living my life right now. So what did I learn? That I'm doing better than I thought I was at this whole balancing act.

10 Lessons Learned in 2010
This isn't in any type of order, and I'm sure I've already forgotten some important things I learned this year. Hopefully, some have already become so ingrained that I forgot they were revelations; some, I will just have forgotten and have to learn again sometime.

Nice summary! I love reflecting on a year well lived. :)
I'm working on my blogging mojo too.
And I've been debating on purchasing some Glee soundtracks. I think you have just convinced me! :)
I agree, Broadway musicals are an escape for me as well and I love starting my day (or ending it) with some show tunes -- and Legally Blonde is a good one! :)
You and your girls are going GREAT! I'm very inspired by your positive attitude.
Reflection is such a great thing because we often discover we're too hard on ourselves day to day and we're actually doing pretty well. I'd say you certainly are. Thanks for sharing your journey through 2010!
I LOVE YOUR LIST!
I am also one of the contributors of the Take The Cake book. I'm so glad to see your review on this. :-)
I could have told you # 10. You are way ahead of most of us!
Have a Great Christmas!!!!!!
Great list... number 9 is definitely something I grapple with, but you know how that is. Time will help me, as will knowing awesome women like you.
